A quick copycat design of awwwards.com’s header menu to play with animating via Principal. Tomorrow I’ll try and recreate this menu in Invision, and see how different the workflow and capabilities are. The biggest learning so far on this one is the importance of rigorous object and layer naming, and spending 30 minutes setting up your files saves hours in the end. Still to figure out – whether objects need to be “invisible” across canvases in order to call upon them when you need them.
Other new things I learned today: Symbol overrides in Sketch are awesome, Simpli seems like a cool way to collaborate with developers, Craft is handy for syncing Invision and Sketch. Also, I’d been using fills in an awkward way – multiple fills now discovered.
